Lawanda Jackson

Master of Sustainable Real Estate Development

Lawanda Jackson was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA, and graduated from Southern University Agricultural and Mechanical College with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

She’s the owner of Turn Key Mortgage of Louisiana, a residential mortgage brokerage firm, and has over 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry. She is also the owner of D’vine Renovations and Investors, a home renovation company, where she has spent years acquiring and renovating homes within her community. She is also a licensed real estate agent and has aspirations of starting her own brokerage. Lawanda plans to expand her business by pursuing her Master of Sustainable Real Estate Development degree at TuSA. She aims to soon offer building/development services, title services, real estate sales services and mortgage services under the Turn Key umbrella.

Lawanda’s top professional priority is to develop affordable and sustainable homes in underserved communities to accommodate low-to-moderate income buyers. She feels there are too few homes in safe and desirable areas to accommodate this need. Lawanda wants her developments to inspire more consumers to become homeowners regardless of income, instill pride in those transitioning into homeownership and promote homeownership in underserved communities for generations to come. As a native of North Baton Rouge, Lawanda is particularly focused on using her skills and experience to revitalize, develop and promote that community. She feels confident that the tools and education received from TuSA’s MSRED program will aide in her quest to building, acquiring, renovating and selling affordable homes – all of which are sustainable and aesthetically pleasing to buyers.

“My company logo has pink in it. Any new development or renovation businesses that I run, is going to have some element of pink – because I need everyone to know this is a woman-owned company, and she is handling business.”
