TuSA Alumni Mentorship Program

The TuSA Alumni Mentorship program is meant to provide all TuSA students, alumni of the school, and local professionals with the opportunity to connect to expand their network, discuss career goals and interests, grow professional skills, and further connect to the architecture, design, real estate, and historic preservation fields. Started as a way to connect the Class of 2020 to the alumni base during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the program has now expanded to include all classes and programs. The TuSA Mentorship Program can also offer alumni a unique relationship to current TuSA students, while providing a convenient way to stay connected to Tulane!

UPDATE: For the 2024-2025 program, we are excited to announce a partnership with AIA New Orleans. Therefore, all AIA New Orleans members (regardless of alumni status) are also encouraged to sign up to be mentors, along with all TuSA alumni!

Program Schedule

The TuSA Mentorship Program runs annually from October to May, beginning with a virtual kick off call and featuring quarterly engagement opportunities.

Matching Process

TuSA Students and Mentors are matched based on student program, future career goals and areas of interest, geographic locations, and other student preferences.

Time Commitment

As part of this program, we recommend communication between alumni (mentor) and students (mentee) — whether via email, on the phone, or via Zoom or video conferencing —at least once a month. We also encourage in-person meetings at least once a semester at TuSA events or over school breaks. To help guide mentorship meetings, TuSA will send a reminder email each month with suggested topics to discuss and specific resources.

Eligibility

The TuSA Mentorship Program is open to all current students and alumni of the Tulane School of Architecture from all of our programs. For the 2024-2025 program, all AIA New Orleans members are also encourage to sign up to be mentors (regardless of where you went to school)!
