Discipline: Historic Preservation

Jessica Triche

Master of Science in Historic Preservation

Jessica Triche is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. She grew up spending summers with relatives in New Orleans, where she always felt a “strong connection to place.” Her educational background in history and public policy led her to pursue her Master of Science in Historic Preservation. The discipline, she feels, intertwines history with action through the improvement of buildings and places of cultural significance in the built environment.

“I chose Tulane because there is no better place to study historic architecture, in my opinion, than the living laboratory that is New Orleans.”

Jessica was also drawn to the program because of Tulane’s experienced faculty and international study opportunities. With her degree, she hopes to advocate for the protection of Black historic sites throughout the country where the social, historical, environmental, and material are inextricably linked.
