Jade Johnson

Master of Sustainable Real Estate Development

Originally from Arlington, TX, Jade Johnson received her Bachelor of Administration in Management from Prairie View A&M University in May 2022. She earned her real estate license during her time as an undergraduate and began selling homes shortly after. Through this process she developed a passion for real estate, looking to move away from sales and further her education in real estate development.

Jade applied to Tulane’s MSRED program after researching the school and its faculty. She was drawn to the professors’ vast knowledge from prior work experiences. Looking to move out of state, she was also interested in experiencing the rich culture of New Orleans.

“With this degree, I hope to become a real estate developer with a goal of investing into low-income and underserved communities. I also hope to give back by one day teaching other minorities like myself about real estate development, increasing the percentage of Black and female real estate developers.”

As a current student, Jade has enjoyed the classroom engagement among her peers and professors. Her courses include discussions of current events within the real estate industry that have helped her to think like a developer. Working closely with her professors, she has found them to be extremely accessible and welcoming.
