Tulane Alumna named Principal and Practice Leader at Perkins Eastman

Global design practice Perkins Eastman announced the appointment of Clara L. Wineberg, AIA, LEED AP as Principal and Practice Leader, supporting the firm’s strategic growth across residential, senior living, and mixed-use communities nationwide.

Shawn Basler, Co-CEO of Perkins Eastman, said that “We are thrilled to welcome Clara as we continue to build our national practice,” as part of the announcement. Basler went on to say that, “Her leadership across the full spectrum of housing and community-focused environments—and her deeply collaborative approach—reflect our belief that great design is rooted in how people live, connect, and thrive.”

Wineberg, who graduated from TuSABE in 1990, brings to Perkins Eastman an integrated design perspective that balances programmatic clarity with strong architectural expression. Her experience on complex urban projects spans entitlement, energy performance, and community engagement, informed by a deep understanding of the people who inhabit these environments. She is also known for strengthening teams as they expand into new markets and project types. Wineberg had previously been featured in Madame Architect for her visionary insights into the urban residential experience.

In her new role, Clara will help shape Perkins Eastman’s growing Living practice, advancing design solutions that respond to evolving housing needs while supporting vibrant, resilient communities. Read more about her appointment on Perkins Eastman's website.
