3:30pm-5:30pm
LBC - Rathskeller Lounge
Join the Design I Studio for our end-of-semester light sculpture exhibition on Wednesday, 11/13, in the LBC Rathskeller Lounge from 3:30-5:30pm! The exhibition is free and open to the public.
This semester, Design students studied insect specimens donated by the Tulane Ecology department as inspiration for their light sculptures. Each student chose an insect to analyze, carefully studying its anatomy and behavior and translating those observations into three-dimensional sculpture, light, and shadow. In addition to the conceptual inspiration derived from nature, each project is crafted entirely from biodegradable materials.
Photos in the post are from the previous iterations and in-progress reviews that students have been working through in the weeks leading up to the exhibition.
