Jorge Rigau, FAIA, will be presenting "Preservation as Conversation."

The lecture will guide attendees through several objectives: become familiar with different approaches to address preservation problems and predicaments; grow aware of alternate means, methods, and materials to communicate historical information through design; understand how to strategize design approaches to intervene in a historic building or space; and learn about the architectural legacy of the Hispanic Caribbean, particularly in Puerto Rico.

Jorge Rigau is a Puerto Rican architect, historian, author and pedagogue. He is the founder and first dean of the New School of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. Rigau is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects.
