The Tulane School of Architecture’s Student Government and Design Symposium committee are proud to announce the theme of this year’s annual symposium, "Material World: Futures of Tactile and Digital Expression." This year, we are exploring the roles of materiality and representational mediums within the disciplines of architecture and design.
The symposium will be taking place March 25-26th and will feature invited speaker lectures, panel discussions, workshops, merchandise, and food! This event has been curated and planned by TuSA students but is open to the broader Tulane and New Orleans community!
Advancements in representational techniques and material expressions in the design practice have been furthered alongside our increasingly digital world, allowing new methods of functionality and conceptual transference through tactile and digital mediums. This era of evolution sets the stage for designers to shape the future of the built environment and address its challenges through innovative and forward thinking techniques. We are hoping to broaden the perspectives and theoretical understanding of materiality and modes of design communication for our TuSA student body and the broader community.
We are so excited to have Tristan Al-Haddad, Sean Brown, Matt Branham, Nick Roseboro, and Alessandro Orsini joining us for this weekend! Below is the schedule.
