Emma Kousouris
After earning her Masters in Preservation Studies from Tulane University in 2016, Emma Kousouris joined EverGreene Architectural Arts as a Conservator.
She worked closely with Senior Conservators in all aspects of historic conservation work, including research, condition assessments, conservation treatments, and materials testing and analysis. She received her Professional Associate designation with the American Institute for Conservation (AIC) in 2018.
Emma recently presented at the International Symposium CONSOLIDATION 2021 focused on Stone Consolidation in Cultural Heritage in Lisbon, Portugal. The presentation, titled “Going Beyond the Recommendations: Practical Applications of Large-Scale Chemical Consolidation Treatments,” allowed her to share first-hand experiences and lessons-learned while executing and leading several large-scale chemical consolidation projects in the Washington D.C. metro area.
In July 2022, Emma moved into an Assistant Project Manager role at EverGreene where she focuses her skills on scheduling, budgeting, communication and team building. She assists with on-site operations, the daily needs of projects, and is deeply committed to the team’s safety, communication and quality of work performed.
Prior to studying at Tulane University, Emma earned her BA in Historic Preservation and Art History from the College of Charleston in South Carolina. She worked as a Preservationist at Bennett Preservation Engineering in Charleston, for two years, working closely with an Engineer and a Conservator. The majority of her work with Bennett involved on-site documentation, condition assessments, and the creation of construction documents.
