Larry Overton
Director of Operations
Larry Overton serves as Assistant Director of Operations for Tulane University's School of Architecture & Built Environment. In this role, he provides operational leadership for the school's academic and administrative functions, supporting strategic initiatives, facilities and space management, project coordination, event management, and the administrative systems that enable faculty, staff, and students to thrive. He collaborates with university leadership to strengthen operations, improve processes, and foster an environment that supports teaching, learning, research, and innovation.
Before joining the School of Architecture & Built Environment, Larry served in Tulane University's Office of Advancement, where he managed strategic initiatives and special projects supporting university leadership. His work included coordinating governance activities for the School of Medicine Board of Governors, overseeing complex projects and high profile events, and partnering across schools and administrative units to advance institutional priorities and improve operational effectiveness.
Outside of the university, Larry is the founder of Overton Estates, a land based enterprise dedicated to equine education, agricultural stewardship, and preserving rural heritage. Through Overton Estates, he works to create educational opportunities that connect individuals and communities with agriculture, horsemanship, and conservation while promoting leadership, service, and responsible stewardship of the land.
Larry's educational background includes studies in psychology at Southeastern Louisiana University. He is passionate about operational excellence and believes that strong organizations are built through collaboration, thoughtful leadership, continuous improvement, and a commitment to serving others.
