Xenia Stoumpou is an architect and urbanist. She holds a diploma in Architecture (2018) from the National Technical University of Athens and the ENSA Paris-Belleville and a Master in Urbanism, Landscape & Planning (2022) from KU Leuven. Her research focuses on infrastructure and landscape, in particular in the dynamics of urban riparian ecosystems in shaping innovative urban paradigms and their ability to effectively tackle climate-induced urban challenges. Xenia is a licensed architect since 2018 and has worked as an architect in various projects in Greece and abroad. She has been working as project architect with various architecture firms in Greece, while she is also active in an independent collaborative practice in a range of project types and with awarded work in competitions. Her practice seeks to combine theoretical research and design thinking with an effort for advocacy to trigger substantial changes beyond strict project frameworks. She has co-edited the book “Athens misprinted” (Futura, 2019) while her work has been exposed in the Greek Pavilion at The Venice Biennale. Her advanced Master Thesis, “Riparian Allegories” was awarded with the 1st prize in the DAIDA Global Thesis Award 2023 and was among the finalists for the EU Mies Young Talents Architecture Award 2023. Xenia has previously worked as a researcher and teaching fellow for NTUA, on urban design studios and urban design research programs.
