Sergio Alvarez Bedoya

Pre-Doctoral Teaching Fellow - Architecture

Sergio is a registered Architect in the State of Victoria, Australia and Madrid, Spain. He completed a Master's Degree in Architecture with Honors by the Madrid Polytechnic (Spain) in 2005, having been involved since then in professional and academic roles, such as a lecturer in Interior Design at the Madrid Polytechnic and Communications and Visual tutor at Monash University in Melbourne.

Sergio Alvarez established his Melbourne practice, Sergio Alvarez Architecture, in 2019. Engaged in projects large and small, the studio has a particular interest in delivering high-quality, affordable architecture and believes that good design should be available to all.

Prior to establishing his practice, Sergio spent several years working with multi-award winning, design-focused practices in both Melbourne (Australia) and Europe (Spain and Belgium). With experience in a wide range of projects including high quality residential, commercial, social housing retail and urban design, Sergio brings extensive knowledge and expertise to each new project. Sergio's research interests include affordable housing, collective housing, green building design, and sustainable planning.
