Megan Slattery

Adjunct Lecturer in Architecture

Megan Slattery, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, is an Austin based architect, with over 20 years of commercial architecture experience with a focus on sustainable design.  Most recently, Megan was a Partner and Director of Sustainable Design at Studio8 Architects in Austin, from 2019 until 2023. Prior to joining Studio8, she ran her own practice, Office for Local Architecture (OLA), a commercial architecture and sustainability consulting firm for 8 years.  Currently Megan is the founder of Project [Austin], a multidiscipline consulting practice.

In her most recent role at Studio8, Megan led a team of over fifty designers and consultants in the design of a high-profile corporate campus for a technology client in Austin. Megan’s professional career has focused primarily on corporate office, historic renovation, mixed-use commercial, and non-profit work in addition to advising clients on sustainable strategies.

Through her practical knowledge about implementation of sustainable building methods, having been involved in leading dozens of projects through LEED and AEGB certifications throughout Austin, she was recently invited by the City of Austin to serve as an advisory board member for their Climate Action Plan Building Committee to help the city curb community-wide emissions and increase equity.

Megan approaches the craft of architecture as a problem solver. One of her favorite parts of architectural design is embracing each project’s unique complexities and working with her team to maneuver through their challenges and create project specific solutions.
