María is an architect and urban designer, graduated in Architecture from University of Valladolid in 2018, and Master's in Advanced Architectural Design from Polytechnic University of Madrid in 2020. María has been involved since then in professional and academic roles, such as lecturer in the Master of Architectural Communication at Polytechnic University of Madrid.
María’s research interest focuses on the role of artificial light in architectural design, especially in its use to create atmospheres and transform the reality we know. As part of her doctoral experience, she had the opportunity to participate in several workshops and conferences in Paris, Innsbruck, and Alingsas. In addition, Maria is a pedagogical enthusiast and has been a member of the Edumeet International Conference on Transfers for Innovation and Pedagogical Change organizing committee.
Her professional experience as a practicing architect has varied in themes, scales, and works, all developed in both small studios and international companies. Although the first projects she took part in were related to healthcare, urban design, transport hubs, and educational centres, in recent years she has been working on collective housing projects for private and public developers. With extensive experience in architectural competitions, she has received awards in national and international competitions.
