Jonathan House
Adjunct Lecturer in Architecture & Design
Jonathan House is an architect and set designer who is passionate about story telling design opportunities in both built environments meant to be inhabited and those meant to play on screen.
With a bachelor of Architecture from Louisiana State University and a Master of Architecture from Tulane, the unique challenges and opportunities intrinsic to the South Louisiana topography, climate, and culture have always been forefront in his academic pursuits and professional career as an architect.
Jonathan has worked professionally in Austin, Texas and New Orleans, Louisiana with experience in both residential and commercial architecture. Some of his local architecture projects include the renovation and adaptive reuse of McDonough 19 into the TEP Center, historic for its role in the desegregation of the New Orleans public school system, various aviation and food service projects within the new Louis Armstrong International Airport, as well as designing the renovation of and addition to Baker High School in Baker, Louisiana.
As a film and television set designer, Jonathan has worked on tv shows like AMC’s Interview with the Vampire and movies like Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s helping bring the production team’s creative visions to life on film locations, backlots, and stages.
With experience in fabrication and construction as well, Jonathan understands the importance of craftsmanship and its value at various scales and modes of engagement with users and viewers alike.
