James Rolf
Adjunct Lecturer in Historic Preservation
James Rolf has worked to preserve buildings that contribute to National Register Historic Districts since 2006. He knows first-hand how vital it is to protect and preserve the built environment, which gives communities a sense of place and permanence. His work as the Director of Planning and Preservation for the Louisiana Recovery School District included over $450M in school renovations under the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation, leveraging over $100M in historic and new markets tax credits. In 2018, James founded Rolf Preservation Works, LLC a locally-owned historic preservation consulting firm specializing in historic tax credits, historic district and structures surveys, and preservation consulting from the Gulf South to the West Coast. James brings his extensive experience in complex financial structuring as well as knowledge of historic building materials to every project. James holds a BS in Business Administration from Northwestern State University as well as a Master of Preservation Studies from Tulane University School of Architecture.
