Ira Concepcion

Adjunct Lecturer in Architecture

Ira Concepcion, RA, is an Adjunct Lecturer at the Tulane School of Architecture and Principal at Senso Architects, a research and development practice that is founded on the mission of helping people and healing the planet through architecture.

Ira received his BBA in Entrepreneurship from the University of Houston in 2008 and his Master of Architecture from Tulane University in 2019. In between his educational pursuits, Ira worked in the construction industry for seven years while living in Metro Manila, Philippines. During that time, he developed a deeper understanding of the built environment and the impact it has on people and the planet. Ultimately, his academic and professional experiences led to interdisciplinary collaborations to research spatial qualities that stimulate the human senses towards an improved well-being.

Through architecture, Ira helps people improve their quality of life and heals the planet through a rigorous design process.

In 2021, Ira was part of a design team that presented a residential project at the World Architecture Festival in Lisbon. This project was recognized for the use of structural rammed earth and cross-laminated timber for the building envelope, in which he played a lead role in designing and detailing. Ira continues to promote and explore building materials that improve health and wellness in the built environment.
