Hannah Kenyon
Visiting Assistant Professor in Design
Hannah is an emerging designer at EskewDumezRipple, a recipient of the AIA National Architecture Firm Award. With her project work focusing on learning environments, she aims to evoke a sense of belonging echoed through her firm’s design community as much as their built work.
Hannah believes that at its forefront, architecture is about people. She is moved by the idea that architecture imposes upon the formation of social relationships and enjoys exploring how we translate a sense of place through proprioceptive experiences while navigating space.
Hannah’s investigations focus on where haptic perception blurs the distinction between space and self.
In her analysis practices, she explores to what extent spatial conditions sculpt personal identity and community.
Hannah received a Master of Architecture from Tulane in 2020. Strongly influenced by the Newcomb Scholars program, she centered her thesis work on ‘Consensual Space’ for which she and her research partner received the AIA Louisiana Celebrate Architecture Scholarship.
Hannah currently serves on the board of AIA New Orleans as the Associate Member Director and has served as co-chair of AIA New Orleans' JEDI committee for the past year.
Native to Washington State, Hannah grew up with a strong bond to the outdoors. In her free time, you can find her lounging in the grass with a book or biking along the levee with friends.
