Eric Hoffman
Adjunct Lecturer - Architecture
Eric Hoffman is a licensed architect and the founder of HOFFMANIA, a New Orleans-based architecture and design practice focused on site-specific, concept-driven work across buildings, interiors, and urban environments.
Previously, Eric was a Project Director at SHoP Architects, where he led some of the firm’s most high-profile and influential projects. His portfolio includes the global headquarters for both Uber and YouTube in the San Francisco Bay Area, large-scale master planning efforts in India and California, and SHoP’s first built work in Los Angeles. He also contributed to the South Street Seaport redevelopment and Domino 325 Kent in New York City. During his tenure, he helped expand the firm’s reach to the West Coast, served on SHoP’s Employee Ownership Advisory Board, and co-founded the office's internal technical development group.
Eric holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he received the Douglas Haskell Award and served as senior editor of the journal Fresh Meat. He earned his Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and has worked with nonprofit housing efforts, including Habitat for Humanity and AmeriCorps, in both Colorado and New Orleans.
His academic experience includes graduate teaching assistantships, invited lectures, and serving as a guest design critic at the University of Illinois at Chicago, University of California, Berkeley, California College of the Arts, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and Tulane University.
