Bio:

Emily Parsons serves as the Assistant Dean for Academics and Advising at the School of Architecture, where she is responsible for student support and advising, academic support and assessment, and the pre-college Career Explorations in Architecture program. During the year she works with the student body on all matters outside of the classroom including course planning, student organizations, and student health and wellness. She utilizes her first-hand knowledge of the studio-learning environment to provide a unique perspective to current and potential students within the Architecture program. Emily received her Bachelor of Architecture from Mississippi State University and her Master of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. Her current area of research is in understanding the cognitive development of students in a studio-based curriculum and how interventions in student affairs can impact success in Architectural education and the profession.
