Christy Crosby is the Assistant Dean for Administration and Operations, in charge of strategic planning, human resources management and administrative management. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a minor in Gender Studies at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri and a certificate in Human Resource Management at Tulane University. Post-graduation, she worked for six years as a legal secretary in Austin, Texas and New Orleans. She is currently enrolled in the Professional Master of Business Administration program at Tulane.
From 2009-2015, Christy volunteered with the Big Easy Rollergirls, a local non-profit corporation dedicated to the advancement of women’s flat track roller derby. In that time, she was a skater, trainer, Interleague Manager, and Governance Chair. She also volunteered with the Women's Flat Track Derby Association, the international governing body for the sport or women's flat track roller derby, as the Quarterly Status Report Manager, and Human Resources Chair. She continues to show her support for the sport as a dedicated fan and a member of the Big Easy Rollergirls recreational league.
Christy is originally from Southern California and has lived in New Mexico, Utah, Missouri and Texas before moving to New Orleans in the fall of 2009. She loves the vibrant culture of the city and the welcoming nature of the South, and enjoys not having to scrape ice off her windshield in the winter. When she is not restructuring processes and supervising staff, she spends her time taking classes, reading, cooking, working on her house, and enjoying new restaurants.
