Architecture Professor Andrew Liles and student Kristina Hoang (A'27) represented Tulane at the NCARB Licensing Advisor Summit in Minneapolis, joining a select group of professionals, educators, and students from across the nation.
The biennial summit brings together Licensing Advisors—volunteers dedicated to guiding the next generation of architects through the often complex process of achieving professional licensure. These advisors serve as invaluable resources, offering clarity on requirements, demystifying the Architectural Experience Program (AXP) and the Architect Registration Examination (ARE), and encouraging candidates every step of the way. For many aspiring architects, a Licensing Advisor is their first—and most trusted—point of contact in their licensure journey.
Over the course of the summit, Liles and Hoang participated in workshops, panel discussions, and networking sessions that explored best practices in mentorship, strategies for increasing access to licensure, and ways to better integrate professional development into architectural education. They also connected with representatives from schools, firms, and state licensing boards, creating new opportunities for collaboration and support within Tulane’s own community.
