The Center on Climate Change and Urbanism (CCU) at Tulane School of Architecture is pleased to announce the recipients of the Faculty and Student Research Grants for academic year 2025-2026. These grants, intended to catalyze new lines of research and pedagogy that lead to future peer-review publication, support research projects by faculty and students focused broadly on the built environment’s role in causing, mitigating, and adapting to climate change. Faculty grant recipients are awarded a fellowship with the Center, alongside their monetary award. The grant review committee consisted of CCU’s leadership team, Professors Jesse M. Keenan, Adam Marcus, and Catherine Sckerl.
Awarded projects in this round span a diverse range of topics, from climate impacts on cultural heritage and Gulf Coast preservation to water insecurity and public health, sustainable agriculture, and climate-informed migration and housing policy. The work is global in scope, with projects based in Mexico City, Peru, and Dominica. Faculty awards this year ranged from $9,250 to $10,000. Faculty grant recipients will present their research findings at a series of public lunchtime talks at Tulane School of Architecture and Built Environment in April.
