John Huppi, Associate Director of Real Estate Development, received an Emmy Nomination in the Outstanding Sports Documentary: Short for NFL Films Presents: The Arctic Challenge, the TV short documentary which aired on Fox Sports 1 in Fall 2025. John's crew broke several world records by rowing unsupported across the Arctic Ocean in July 2025, raising funds for charity while raising awareness for youth including homelessness and access to sports.
In addition to Huppi, who acted as bosun during the journey, and team manager (and John's wife) Hannah Huppi, the team was led by captain Andrew Tropp, while Jimmy Graham took on the role of Lead Navigator. The team received quite a bit of press coverage in the lead-up to their journey, including features on CBS Sports and Sports Illustrated. Tulane Stories featured John prior to the team's departure, in "From Tulane to the top of the world: Alumni couple prepares to row the Arctic", by Mary Sparacello.
The full documentary film is available on the Arctic Challenge website.
The 47th Annual Emmy Awards will take place on May 26th, 2026. A full list of Sports Nominees is available here.
