Research Projects
- Toward a Philosophy of Architecture. (in progress, 300 pp.). An investigation and analysis of the uncritical adoption of philosophical theories in architectural theory. I propose a philosophical framework that systematizes future theoretical pursuits while accommodating unrelated current theories. I also argue for the formulation of a genuine philosophy of architecture. 2003
- Language Understanding and Compositional Semantics. dissertation. (Michigan: UMI Dissertation Services, 1999). An inquiry of how competent speakers are able to understand the meanings of indefinitely many novel sentences of their language, by analyzing the dominant Chomsky-inspired approach to explaining semantic competence. I argue that an appeal to tacit knowledge and to compositional semantics is indeed necessary in an explanation of semantic competence. 1996-99
- Composition X or Penelope & Henry. architectural senior thesis. (NY: Rensselaer architecture library, 1988). A library / meditation place exploring the influence of spatial arrangement on human experience and psyche. 1988
