Jason Butz moved to New Orleans in 2017 to join Gould Evans, a national firm based in Kansas City. Previously, he lived and worked in St. Louis after graduating from Washington University in St. Louis in 2012. He co-taught the graduate digital fabrication studio for three years, as well as several seminar courses on computation. In practice, his work has ranged from speculative to realized in a variety of cities around the US including Miami and San Francisco, as well as countries around the world including Brazil and Mali.
For his work he has received several awards from the multiple AIA chapters including St. Louis, New Orleans, Louisiana and Central States Region. His projects have also placed in multiple design competitions.
