Curtis Doucette

Adjunct Lecturer

Curtis Doucette, Jr. is a founding partner of Iris Development; a New Orleans-based, residential real estate development company.  Established in 2012, Iris has expanded its portfolio to approximately $8 million in assets.  The company has been awarded funding by the City of New Orleans Affordable Home Development Program and the Federal Home Loan Bank’s AHP to produce over 125 units of for-sale and rental affordable housing for New Orleans residents.  In the ten years prior to Iris, he established himself as a developer by acquiring, rehabilitating, and managing nearly $3 million worth of residential real estate within his personal portfolio.  He has utilized creative financing techniques to develop a portfolio of rental properties in Louisiana that serves low to moderate income residents.  He has spent his career eradicating blight and, as a result, established a strong record of contributing to neighborhood stabilization, while unlocking the value of underperforming residential real estate.

Mr. Doucette holds an M.S. in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and a B.A. in Communications from Dillard University.  From the former, Mr. Doucette was recognized with the Harold Bell Entrepreneurial Vision Award upon graduation.  Currently, he serves as the Vice President of the Broadmoor Improvement Association board.
