News Carey Clouse featured in Metropolis Magazine
Carey Clouse, an adjunct associate professor of first year architecture studios, was featured in the March 2008 edition of Metropolis magazine. The article covered Carey’s work in New Orleans as a Rose Architectural Fellow, highlighting her role in rebuilding affordable housing in post-Katrina New Orleans. As a fellow, Carey engages in a unique form of architectural practice—- one that prioritizes community design process, high standards for green re-building, and the integration of larger-scale urban design initiatives.
As a Rose Architectural Fellow, Carey works most closely with Providence Community Housing to develop thousands of units of affordable housing. However, her role as a fellow also extends beyond this non-profit; Carey frequently collaborates with a host of other organizations in the region. Carey recently worked with the Tulane City Center to develop an exhibit on salvage and material reuse in post-Katrina New Orleans, and she continues to build initiatives with the Gulf Coast Design Center, Architecture For Humanity, Global Green, The Green Project and Hike for KaTREEna.
