News Felipe Correa (TSA ‘00) completes design for housing in Ecuador

Felipe Correa (TSA ‘00), Somatic Collaborative, recently completed the design for the Altos de Santa Rosa Housing in Tumbaco, Ecuador. The project sits in a ten acre plot in an intermediate plateu, 500 meters below the city of Quito and 300 meters above the thalweg of the Tumbaco Valley. The project, composed of 14 residential units, primarily explores the development of an effective system to organize infrastructure in order to minimize the presence of service spaces within the grounds of the project. Each individual unit is perceived as a single piece, yet responds to an infrastructural and assembly logic based on linkage, repetition and aggregation. The project is expected to start construction in March.
