GELPI Projects is awarded first place in the international design competition for the Wynwood Gateway Park Competition in Miami's Wnynwood neighborhood. GELPI Projects' proposal WYNWOOD GREENHOUSE was selected from among 238 submissions from 23 countries and is intended to be built within the next year.

Nick Gelpi assembled the interdisciplinary team, and led the design collaboration from his office on Lincoln Road.

The design features an undulating roof structure with two roofpeaks on the 28th Street elevations referencing the two single family homes which previously existed on the site. As the two roofs merge and interact pitching and warping they blend into a playful hovering roofscape, relying on the familiar domestic roof shapes peaks, dormers and eaves. This lightweight framework additionally served as a system for collaborative interaction, as the 3 disciplines of art, architecture, and ladscape, filled in to the empty frames various components which make up the mosaic of park space.

The interdisciplinary team was comprised by Nick Gelpi(architect)Roberto Rovira(landscape architect)and Jim Drain(artist).
