Innovation through replication: Tulane School of Arichtecture Alum and Board of Advisor, Morris Adjmi, TSA '83), reflects on the design process behind Sterling Mason’s extraordinary facade

“When I began the project I kept coming up with ideas for the addition that approximated the existing brick loft. Rather than make the new building similar, I began thinking of the idea of duplication; of creating a new building that is a mirror image of the original. I still wanted the addition to relate to the past, though, and was drawn to the idea of a double negative in the use of a modern material and technology that speaks to the present, in this case an aluminum replica of a brick original.” Morris Adjmi.
