Preserving Gulf Coast Architecture in a Global Context

AIA Northwest Florida Presents

Lecture

Professor John H. Stubbs, Director of the Master of Preservation Studies program at Tulane University, will speak on preserving Gulf Coast architecture in the light of his 20 years experience serving as Vice President for Fields Projects at the World Monuments Fund in New York. Having traveled to over 100 countries, he has been instrumental in architectural conservation projects at sites ranging from ancient Pompeii and Czar’s Palaces in St. Petersburg in Europe, to Angkor Wat and The Forbidden City in Asia. The lecture will highlight architectural preservation initiatives in different parts of the world illustrating what Stubbs has proposed in two books, that cultural heritage protection is a growing global movement.
