About Emily Baker
Emily is an architect and assistant professor at the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. Her experiences on job sites in architectural practice catalyzed her research in developing innovative structural and construction systems through full-scale constructed experimentation. Her work, employing both digital and analog design and fabrication techniques, aims to reunite the architect with the possibility inherent in material reality.
She currently teaches fabrication-based studios that engage both the local construction industry as well as emerging technologies. She holds degrees in architecture from the University of Arkansas and Cran-brook Academy of Arts in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
