Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship
Dear Tulane School of Architecture Community,
I recently invited Eden Full to come to speak at Tulane. She will be working with several groups of Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship students in our new SISE minor. I have the privilege of serving as the dean overseeing this program, which is really the result of extraordinary work by a group of innovative faculty and students, including our very own Social Entrepreneurship Professor Byron Mouton.
I met Eden at a recent Ashoka Conference where she talked about her vision for a better future – and in her case the vision centers on renewable energy sources for developing and developed countries. As she put it in her talk, she is 21 years old and has been working in the energy industry for ten years now. She is a rising junior in mechanical engineering at Princeton, having taken two years off after winning the prestigious Peter Thiel 20 under 20 fellowship for her SunSaluter project:
She will be involved with Byron Mouton and Professor Laura Murphy's SISE course titled "Design Thinking for Social Change" class on Tuesday, and I also wanted all TSA students to have an opportunity to see her presentation during a new hour event.
I hope you will consider joining me for this unusual and inspiring lecture.
