2017-2019 Enterprise Rose Architecture Fellowship

The Enterprise Rose Architectural Fellowship partners early-career architectural designers with local community development organizations for a three-year term, where they facilitate an inclusive approach to development to create green, sustainable, and affordable communities. As an integral staff member of the organization, the fellow will focus on advancing the organization’s practices in community engagement, sustainability and design excellence. By becoming a fellow, you join a growing network of passionate and talented public interest designers who are continuously changing what is possible in community development. This year, fellowship opportunities are located with Bon Secours Community Works in Baltimore, MD, CASA of Oregon in Sherwood, OR, New Orleans Redevelopment Authority in New Orleans, LA, People’s Emergency Center in Philadelphia, PA, Urban Edge and Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation in Boston, MA, and the placement at Urban Housing Solutions in Nashville, TN.

About New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA)
The New Orleans Redevelopment Authority is a catalyst for the revitalization of the city, partnering in strategic developments that celebrate the city's neighborhoods and honor its traditions. NORA works with development partners to create quality, energy-efficient, and affordable housing for local residents. Working with community leaders and local businesses, NORA is a leader in revitalizing New Orleans' commercial corridors. NORA is a steward of many vacant properties in New Orleans, maintaining them and providing opportunities for community greening projects. The NORA fellow will serve as a liaison between the authority, the design community and the public, acting as a thought leader and community engaged designer on program and project design.

  • NAAB-Accredited Professional Architecture Degree (B.Arch, M.Arch, or D.Arch)
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. for the entire fellowship period

    Selection Criteria:
  • Architectural, academic and community experience
  • Essays and response to work plan
  • Design portfolio
  • Recommendations
  • Participation in Finalist Summit
  • In-person interview
    Selection Schedule:
  • July 10, 2016: Deadline to apply
  • August 26: Finalist Summit invitees notified
  • September 20-21 2016: Finalist Summit in New York
  • October: On-site interviews
  • November: Final decisions and notifications
  • January 2017: Fellowship begins

*Travel expenses for Summit and interview will be covered by Enterprise
